Carbon Report - Online Webinar

Join the Victorian Forest Alliance with The Tree Projects for a special presentation with Dr Jennifer Sanger author of the newly released Victoria's Forest Carbon Report, with special guest TBA.

Jen will be presenting and discussing the findings of the report. This report is the first time that the emissions from native forest logging have been calculated and shared publicly.

The presenters:

Dr Jennifer Sanger is a passionate forest ecologist and science communicator. She has spent over 15 years studying forests and the charismatic plant species which inhabit them. Jennifer is the co-founder for The Tree Projects, an environmental outreach organisation which educates people about the world's most notable trees. She is also a member of the Independent Science Council of Tasmania.

We will also be joined by Margaret Blakers, author and researcher of the After the Logging Report. She is a long-term environmental activist and political adviser and a great champion of Australia’s forests. Marg organised the first Atlas of Australian Birds, worked on environmental campaigns, and established the Victorian Greens and the national environmental policy of the Australian Greens. She also worked as Chief of Staff to Senator Bob Brown, organised the first Global Greens Congress, and founded the Green Institute, of which she was founding Director.

Marg will be discussing her research, the impacts and missed opportunities for regrowing forests as well as the current carbon offset issues for real climate action we face in this country.
