About the webinar
Brett will be speaking about the planetary importance of our giant trees in south eastern Australia and his extraordinary adventures getting to know them and dealing with Governments!
For over 35 years Brett has been exploring the tall, wet forests of Victoria and Tasmania, searching for, measuring, photographing, (and occasionally climbing!) the largest and tallest of our eucalyptus trees. This quest has taken him through the stunning highs of traversing through ancient undisturbed tall forests, and the discovery of the largest known flowering plants - to the lows of monster clearcuts, mega bushfires and the devastation of finding logged giants.
His work has often included arguing for the protection of giant and tall trees in discussions with government forestry agencies, hoping to persuade people in management positions that these venerable giants are of infinitely more value to society when they are left standing.
