Rally in Healesville for World Environment Day

Nearly 40 community members came together in Healesville last Sunday to celebrate World Environment Day 2022, highlighting this year's theme which is "living sustainably and in harmony with nature", drawing focus to the proposed logging at Tanglefoot Walking Track in Toolangi. It was wonderful to gather with our local community.

We gathered at Coronation Park and heard from Karena Goldfinch, the creative director of the Great Tree Project as well as Steve Meacher from Friends of Leadbeater’s Possum. There was tea and coffee, and thankfully the rain held off for the parade down the main street of Healesville. It was great engaging with the local community, many of whom expressed concern over logging in Toolangi.

Thanks so much to everyone who made it out to the rally to save the Tanglefoot walking track. This event was held on the stolen lands of the Wurundjeri First Nations Peoples. We pay our deepest respects to their Elders past and present, and thank them deeply for the long and ongoing care of Country.
