The Victorian Forest Alliance is connecting grassroots groups across the state to protect and restore native forests. Together, we helped achieve a massive result for forests, with the announcement the state government is bringing forward the transition date to January 1 2024.
This is a monumental achievement that so many have been fighting for, for so long. But there’s still plenty of work to be done. It's a critical time for forests and we still need to remain vigilant while logging still threatens forests for the next 6 months
Our citizen science program and campaign to end native forest logging is providing community groups the opportunity to connect with the forest, protect threatened species, amplify the call for First Nation sovereignty and keep the pressure on decision makers.
Our work is more important than ever, and we need your support to do it!
Join us this Sunday from 6pm online for the launch of our fundraising campaign!
Hear from VFA Campaign Coordinator Chris Schuringa about:
- What the recent announcement to end logging means for the forests of Victoria
- Some of the work we’ve done to help achieve this monumental result
- What’s next for the Victorian Forest Alliance
Phil Marshall VFA survey coordinator will be joining us as well to chat about:
- The achievements of our incredible survey program
- Why it is critical to continue surveying for threatened species
The rest of this year is an important time for our communities and the forests of Victoria and we need your support. We are looking forward to an in person event in the future to celebrate the achievements of the VFA. RSVP to get the Zoom link and see you there!
