Post last year's state election, we now have a new environment minister, Ingrid Stitt MP, and the community has wasted no time in sending through emails and letters to let her know that we want her to end native forest logging now.
Ingrid has a real opportunity here to do the right thing by listening to the overwhelming support for the protection and restoration of forests; for climate, habitat and First Nations justice.
The next two months are critical and we need all hands on deck!
We'll be delivering a joint letter from forest and environmental groups, calling for an immediate end to all native forest logging to Minister Stitt's office in Cairnlea. We'll be meeting at 10am at the Friends of the Earth office on Smith Street and carpooling from there.
It takes 40 minutes to drive from FoE to the office. If you aren't planning on carpooling and will be making your own way there, try to arrive just before 11am to deliver the letter.
You can also send a personal letter to her!
Send to:
Ingrid Stitt MP
Minister for the Environment

For an extra action, take a photo of yourself with your letter and post on social media @IngridstittMP with the hashtag #EndNativeForestLoggingNow
We hope to see you there at the FoEM office on Smith St!
